Arrival guide — maps and terminal access

Finding your car park at Melbourne Airport

The drive to Tullamarine is the easy part. Finding the right entrance on a dark morning, with a flight to catch, is where people lose time. This guide covers Melbourne Airport parking maps, the T123 Transport Hub, and pick-up and drop-off zones.

Maps Entry Route

Melbourne Airport publishes car park maps, and they are worth two minutes before you drive. Each facility has its own entrance, and they are not all off the same road. Arriving at the wrong one means a loop back around the airport roads, which is the last thing you want at 5am.

Look up your booked car park, note the entry road and level, then set the route to that entrance. If you booked terminal parking for Melbourne Airport parking near T1–T3, your turn is different from value parking or the T4 car park. A quick check now saves a missed turn when the roads are busy and the signs come fast.

Map

Match the map to your booking

Terminal, T4 and value car parks each have a separate entry. Use the map for the one you booked.

Step one

Entry

Note the turn, not just the terminal

Follow the signed car park entry road. The terminal forecourt is not the car park entrance.

Step two

QR

Keep your QR code and reference handy

Have the code ready on your phone and the booking reference where the driver can read it.

Step three

Setting your route

Setting your route in Google Maps

Search your specific car park rather than “Melbourne Airport” as a whole, because the generic pin can drop you at the terminal forecourt instead of the car park entry. Confirm the pin sits at the car park entrance, not the terminal.

Arrivals Drive, Melbourne Airport VIC 3045 is the airport address if you need it. Zoom in, check the entry road name, and set that as your destination when you use parking Melbourne Airport for an early flight.

T123 precinct

The T123 precinct and its car park

Terminals 1, 2 and 3 share the T123 precinct and the T123 Terminal Car Park, which has direct access to all three. Qantas, international carriers and Virgin Australia fly from here. If that is your terminal group and you have booked terminal parking, you are walking from the car park to check-in.

The entrance is signposted, but check the map so you take the right turn off the airport roads. For airport parking around the main terminal group, the walking link is the point — park, lock, and follow the covered path to departures.

Terminal 4 and the T4 car park

Terminal 4 is separate, served by the T4 Terminal Car Park, about 100m from the T4 entrance. Jetstar and other T4 carriers depart from here. The car park is close, but it is a T4 facility, so it does not serve the T123 terminals.

If you have booked the wrong one, sort it through the parking help centre before you arrive rather than at the barrier. A two-minute message or call beats a full loop with a boot full of bags and a boarding clock running.

The T123 Transport Hub

The T123 Transport Hub hosts the free pick-up and drop-off zones, and it is central to the airport’s updated ground transport arrangements. It links parking, pick-ups and terminal access around Terminals 1, 2 and 3.

If you are being collected, this is where to meet. If you are dropping someone off, use the hub rather than the terminal forecourt, where stopping is restricted. The hub keeps short-stay cars out of the through lanes, so the forecourt can keep moving.

Free zones

Pick-up and drop-off zones

The free pick-up and drop-off zones sit at the T123 Transport Hub. They are free to use, but wait zone rules apply, so check the time limits before you park up and leave the car.

Drop

Quick drop-off, keep moving

Use the hub lanes for a fast goodbye. The hub keeps you out of terminal forecourt traffic where stopping is restricted.

Pick

Agree a meeting point early

For pick-ups, agree a meeting point before the flight lands, because arrivals halls get busy and phones go flat.

Wait

Check time limits first

Wait zone rules apply. Read the posted limits and do not leave the car where only short stays are allowed.

Beyond the terminal

Value parking and the shuttle

Value parking is not at the terminal, so your arrival route is different. You drive to the value car park, park, and take the shuttle bus to the terminal precinct.

Allow extra time for the transfer, particularly at peak periods when the bus fills up. Check the map for the value car park entrance, because it is not the same turn as terminal parking. When you use melbourne airport parking on a budget, that shuttle leg is part of the trip — count it like a second drive.

Timing your arrival

Build buffer into your drive. Friday evenings and Sunday nights are the busiest on the airport roads, and school holidays add pressure. If you are using value parking, add the shuttle time on top of your usual airport buffer. If you are walking from terminal parking, you still need time for security. Aim to be parked well before you would normally arrive at the airport.

Loop Intercom Help

Loop

Do not stop on airport roads. Circle back and follow the signs again.

Scan

If the QR will not scan, use the intercom and quote your booking reference.

Call

Parking help centre by phone and contact form for access questions.

If you have overshot the car park entrance, do not stop on the airport roads. Loop back around and follow the signs again, using the map to confirm the turn. Stopping on a live lane backs traffic up fast and puts everyone at risk.

If your QR code will not scan at the barrier, press the intercom and quote your booking reference. The parking help centre handles car park access questions by phone and contact form, and they can check your booking while you wait at the gate.

What should I do if I am sent to the wrong car park? Open

Keep driving to a safe place to pull over, re-check the map for your booked facility, and loop back. If the booking itself is wrong — T4 instead of T123 — contact the help centre before you enter, rather than trying to fix it at the barrier.

Where do I meet someone arriving at T1, T2 or T3? Open

Meet at the T123 Transport Hub free pick-up zone. Set the meeting point before the flight lands and check wait limits, so you are not circling the forecourt when the halls get busy.

How early should I leave for value parking? Open

Treat the shuttle as extra travel time on top of your normal airport buffer. At peak times the bus fills, so allow for one full cycle before the one you plan to catch.
